Head of planning and innovation at Administration of the Health System, Portugal
Vanessa is the head of Planning and Innovation at the Administration of the Portuguese Health System, a Government organization in charge of the management of the resources of the National Health Service (NHS). She is focused on innovation regarding organizational models of care (patient centred care, integrated care) and health care commissioning models that can contribute to the health system sustainability.
Vanessa holds a PhD in Public Health and a Master degree in Health Management, both from the National School of Public Health/NOVA University of Lisbon. With almost 20 years of experience in the healthcare sector, her career started as a nurse, moving to the health system administration as a technical officer where she had the exciting opportunity to work in cross section issues such as health system performance assessment, referral networks and integrated care, both at National and International level.
