Fernando Seoane became a full professor in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Borås in 2016. Shortly after, He joined Karolinska Institutet and Karolinska University Hospital in as Senior Lecturer and research leader in Medical Technology and digital Health. Since then, Fernando has led his research group into research and development activities in Digital Health Transformation, identifying current needs and proposing initiatives to meet those needs both strategically and operationally. Currently, Fernando is engaged in several EU funded projects investigating and developing methodologies to succeed improving healthcare through medical technologies and education. In the VALUE project, Interactive Process mining is applied to create value through optimisations of clinical pathways and care-flows while in the Health Transformation Academy healthcare professionals are trained to become agents of transformation. Overall, Fernando Seoane has participated in 10 European funded projects, supervised to completion 10 PhD students and co-authored over 120 journals and conference contributions.
