Prof. Aryeh Shander

Aryeh Shander M.D., is boarded in Internal medicine, Anesthesiology and Critical Care . Currently serves as the emeritus Chief of the Anesthesiology and Critical Care department at Englewood Health. Dr. Shander’s interest in blood conservation started decades ago and he has been a strong advocate of challenging the medical community on its current methods of blood use and understanding of science of anemia and blood flow.
In 1993, Dr. Shander had the opportunity to be introduced to the J.W. community in Northern N.J resulting in the creation of the largest, most diverse and efficient Bloodless center in the world. In addition to local teaching, lecturing and writing, Dr. Shander has been advising and visiting with other centers in the country.
Dr. Shander received his M.D. degree at the University of Vermont College of Medicine.In 1996, he was recognized by Time magazine as one of the heroes of medicine.
