Prof Alawi Alsheikh-Ali
Deputy Director General at Dubai Health Authority, United Arab Emirates
Alawi Alsheikh-Ali serves as the Deputy Director General of the Dubai Health Authority and Chief Academic Officer of the Dubai Academic Health Corporation. He is a Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences where he was previously the Founding Dean of the College of Medicine and University Provost. Dr. Alsheikh-Ali is a member of the Emirates Scientists Council and leads the scientific advisory group for the Dubai COVID-19 Command and Control Center. He holds a Bachelor of Science in biology from MIT, a Master of Science in applied physiology from Boston University, and a Master of Science in clinical research and a Doctor of Medicine from Tufts University. He completed his clinical residency and fellowships in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology at Tufts Medical Center in Boston leading to triple certification from the American Board of Medical Specialties.
