Wright L. Lassiter III is the Chief Executive Officer of CommonSpirit Health as of August 2022. CommonSpirit is an integrated health system comprising over 140 hospitals and more than 1,500 care sites in 21 states.
Prior to joining CommonSpirit, Lassiter was President and CEO of Henry Ford Health (HFH) in Detroit, Michigan. Under his leadership, HFH completed two successful mergers, raised its performance in quality and safety performance, and forged numerous innovative partnerships. A seasoned health care executive, Lassiter has 30+ years of experience working in large, complex health systems, including Henry Ford Health, Alameda Health System in Oakland, California, JPS Health Network in Fort Worth, Texas, and Dallas Methodist Health System.
In 2022, Lassiter was named Crain’s Detroit Business Newsmaker of the Year and received the Michigan Health & Hospital Association’s highest honor – The Meritorious Service Award.  In 2021, he received Crain’s Detroit Business Health Care Heroes – Corporate Achievement Award.  Cited for his commitment to finding solutions, he was named “Michiganian of the Year” in 2020 by The Detroit News, as well as appearing in the 2020 “Top 10 Newsmakers” list by Crain’s Detroit Business for the second time in three years.
Lassiter is the 2022 Chair of the American Hospital Association (AHA) Board of Trustees, and previously served as the Chair of America’s Essential Hospitals Board of Trustees.
