Maria João Freitas
Hospital Manager at CHULC - Centro Hospitalar Universitário Lisboa Central, Portugal
Graduated in Geography and Regional Planning (1997), I have worked in Governmental Agencies, in the areas of studies and planning. I have obtained my post-graduation in Hospital Administration (ENSP/UNL) in 2008 and started to work as a Hospital Manager at a Hospital within the Portuguese NHS, both in clinical and support areas. Following this experience, I joined a Patients’ Association in the area of Rare Diseases, implemented a Rare Resource Centre near Lisbon and developed the area of Project Management and International Affairs at Raríssimas. I have returned to the Hospital setting in 2019 and have been involved in the establishing of Integrated Responsibility Centres since then. I have a post graduation in Epidemiology (FMUL) and a certification in Integrated Care (IFIC) and I’m currently a PhD Student in Urban Studies, with a specific focus in Urban Health Policy, observing the impact of Covid-19 in metropolitan contexts.
