Johanna Cáceres Terán
Director of Communications and Social Responsability at Consorci Sanitari del Maresme, Spain
I trained as a journalist and sociologist and, immediately after graduating, I specialized in science and technology, combining journalism and research. In 2000, I began my career in institutional communications, which I see as an essential strategic tool for making things happen and therefore strongly focused on doing and not just explaining. According to this approach, and together with PR tasks, I soon engaged in boosting internal communication working hand in hand with HR teams as well as undertaking postgrad studies on leadership and people and change management. For the last 20 years I have been leading projects on communicating biomedical sciences, managing employees’ and users’ engagement and reputation, and facilitating change in different organizations within the Catalan public healthcare and biomedical research sector. I am currently the Director of Communications and Corporate Social Responsability at Consorci Sanitari del Maresme (2,200 employees and annual budget of €140 million).
