Dr. Qasem Al Salmi

Dr. Qasem Al Salmi graduated from Oman’s Sultan Qaboos University College of Medicine and did his residency and fellowship training at Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Texas. He completed a Masters’s degree in Public Health from the University of Texas-Houston.
Dr. Al Salmi is the Director-General of the 900+ bed Royal Hospital. During his 10 years tenure as the DG of that main tertiary hospital of Oman, it received the Accreditation Canada International certification and many other awards. He introduced programs for leadership development and LEAN methodology. Dr. Al Salmi has participated in several international leadership and hospital management programs. He is the chairman or member of several top-level planning and advisory committees at national and international levels. He serves as WHO’s expert And a Member of the governing council of the international hospital federation. He has many scientific contributions and publications in peer-reviewed journals.
