Registered Nurse, educated in Care of BMT patients (UK), Master in medical-surgical nursing, Diploma in Qualitative Research, Diploma in Health management and leadership (U.Berkeley), Master in Leadership and Management of Nursing Services and Doctor in Nursing Sciences (U.Barcelona).
From 1990 she worked as a ward nurse in different medical/surgical units. Up to1996 as a ward and clinical nurse in oncology/hematology and intensive therapy. She acted as nurse support manager in the development of care standards, quality, education and learning, research and knowledge management. She is Nurse Executive in the Catalan Institute of Health Hospitals, directing the ARES program on harmonization of care plans for inpatients and outpatients, the implementation of the electronic health records and the clinical information management system, as well as the VIDA program aimed at improving nursing surveillance and prompt identification and management of avoidable complications and in-hospital mortality.
Since 2013 she acts as group leader for the Nursing Research Group at IDIBELL Institute of Biomedical Research in Barcelona.
She is the author of the ATIC Terminology, a nursing interface controlled vocabulary for the electronic health record systems. Works as an associate professor at Barcelona University Nursing School, and has authored of several nursing books and scientific papers in national and international journals.
Since 2017 she is a member of the Board of Directors of the International Council of Nurses.
