Carrie Owen Plietz, FACHE, is regional president, Kaiser Permanente Northern California, Oakland, Calif. In this role, she oversees Kaiser Permanente’s care delivery and health plan operations in Northern California.   Board certified in healthcare management as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Ms. Owen Plietz also serves as Chair of ACHE, an international professional society of more than 48,000 healthcare executives who lead hospitals, healthcare systems and other healthcare organizations.   Before joining Kaiser Permanente Northern California in 2020, she served as executive vice president/COO, Hospital Division, Wellstar Health System, Marietta, Ga.; CEO and COO, Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento, Calif.; COO, Sutter Mills-Peninsula Health System, Burlingame, Calif.; and in a number of leadership positions earlier in her career.   Ms. Owen Plietz earned an executive fellowship in health law and an MHA from Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia Campus, and a BS in health administration from James Madison University
