Explore how healthcare organizations are using big data, advanced analytics, and artificial intelligence to improve clinical decision-making, patient safety, and operational performance. This session features practical examples of AI model development, predictive monitoring, workflow optimization, and data-driven quality improvement, demonstrating how high-quality data and intelligent analytics can support earlier intervention, streamline care delivery, and enhance patient outcomes. Together, these presentations show how turning data into actionable insights is transforming healthcare at both the bedside and system level.

Presentation titles:

  • Validation of acute coronary syndrome ICD codes for clinical AI model development
  • Turning ED data and patient feedback into faster, clearer emergency care: A standardized model with sustained NPS improvement
  • AI patient deterioration prediction: Revolutionized clinical monitoring to enhance patient outcome
  • Pre-MRI safety screening for implantable medical devices: Implementation of a data analytics dashboard to enhance workflow efficiency
  • Invisible interfaces: Eliminating the hospital software training tax through AI-driven natural language navigation
  • CHESS-Osteoporosis: A multi-centre validation trial” a deep-learning artificial intelligence system for opportunistic osteoporosis screening using chest X-Rays

Speakers

Dr Gabrielle Bunney

Assistant Professor, Stanford University, USA

Gabrielle Bunney, MD, MBA, MS is an Assistant Professor in the department of Emergency Medicine at Stanford University. She has worked on projects spanning the whole life cycle in AI for clinical use, from model design and building, to model optimization, and finally the technical and clinical translation of AI for use in patient care. She received her Master’s degree from Stanford University’s Department of Biomedical Data Science, where she gained data science the technical experience to apply to her clinical knowledge. Additionally, she holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management with a focus in finance and is working with groups at Stanford that are bridging the gap between academic medicine and industry. She is a part of the Stanford Emergency Medicine Partnership Program (STEPP) aimed at building collaborations between the emergency department and companies focused on patient care solutions. The combination of a business background and research skills allow her to focus on the implementation of AI technologies into practice. She is continuing working on AI in healthcare with the philosophy that at the heart of innovation there must be a confluence of the strategic vision of the healthcare organization, economic viability, and practical operationalization.
