Mr Shane Jackson

Dr Jeannie Tey

Jeannie Tey brings nearly 20 years of expertise in public health policy and administration to her role as Group Sustainability Lead, NHG Health She is also Senior Consultant in the Department of Epidemiology & Preventive Medicine, and serves as Director of Corporate Planning and Chief Sustainability Officer at Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

Her career is focused on improving population health, shaping health policy, and strengthening health systems. Jeannie has contributed to the development and implementation of health initiatives at both local and national levels.

At NHG Health, Jeannie leads the Sustainability Office, which establishes group sustainability policy and coordinates sustainability efforts across NHG Health institutions. At Tan Tock Seng Hospital, she champions preventive health strategies and steers the hospital’s strategic growth. Her recent work emphasises healthcare sustainability — promoting a systems-based approach that delivers co-benefits for health and the environment. By embedding sustainability into health-systems management, she aims to improve health outcomes while protecting the environment. She is particularly interested in enabling sustained behaviour change and leveraging innovative solutions to address contemporary healthcare challenges.

Ms Vera Vertessen

Vera Vertessen is Director of Patient Care and Facility Services at UZ Brussel, where she is responsible for nursing, midwifery, paramedical staff, and facility services, and contributes to the executive committee. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Karel de Grote Hogeschool Antwerp and a Master’s degree in Hospital Sciences from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), with additional specialization in diabetes education.

She started her career at UZ Brussel in abdominal surgery, where she also worked as a transplant coordinator and actively contributed to kidney transplantation initiatives. In 2014, she co-founded a Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinic at AZ Jan Portaels in Vilvoorde and joined the management team, overseeing approximately 300 healthcare professionals.

After seven years, she returned to UZ Brussel in 2021 as Coordinator of Rare Diseases, and quickly advanced to Head of Nursing, Director of Patient Care, and later Director of Facility Services.

Ms. Vertessen is also active internationally as a full member of the General Council of the International Hospital Federation since 2024, contributing to strategic healthcare leadership and innovation.

Dr Jacco Vroegop

Experienced board director with a demonstrated history of working in the international hospital & private health care industry. Since 2020 CEO of the Horacio Oduber Hospital of Aruba. And since 2025 governing council member of the International Hospital Federation (IHF).
