Robotic-assisted surgery is entering a new era—one in which the value of robotics is amplified by the digital ecosystem that surrounds it. This session, hosted by Intuitive, will explore how robotic surgery technology, supported by digital insights, can enable better learning, surgical performance, and patient outcomes.
Dr Chang Wook Jeong, Director of the Robotic Surgery Center at Seoul National University Hospital, will share perspectives on building a sustainable robotic surgery ecosystem in Korea through clinical evidence and surgeon training. He will discuss how SNUH is advancing its RAS program through ongoing research, including findings from a recent study comparing the perioperative outcomes of robotic, open, and laparoscopic surgery. He will also highlight SNUH’s development of Korea’s first academic RAS training and credentialing program in partnership with Intuitive, including how digital tools will be integrated throughout the training pathway.
Prof. Yoon Ah Park of Samsung Medical Center will discuss her experience with robotic assisted surgery, highlighting how digital capabilities can support surgical performance and OR efficiency while sharing how digital ecosystem turns real-world surgical data into actionable insights for continuous improvement.
Through the panel discussion moderated by Dr. Gretchen Jackson, Vice President and Scientific Medical Officer at Intuitive, the session will explore how hospitals can build a competitive advantage by moving beyond technology adoption to create an integrated RAS ecosystem built on three key pillars: advanced technology, professional education, and program optimization. By connecting advanced platforms, digital insights, training, service, and program support, hospitals can deliver consistent, high-quality minimally invasive care.
