Dr Ali Al Shidi

Dr Al Shidi completed his Specialty Certificate Exam from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, UK, in Acute medicine. He obtained Critical Care Medicine Fellowship certificate from Queen’s University, Canada, European diploma of intensive care medicine and an Internal Medicine Board certificate from the Oman Medical Specialty Board & Internal Medicine MRCP (London) certificate.

Currently Dr Al Shidi is the chairman for the largest critical care department in the UAE (85 beds capacity). Dr Al Shidi had transformed the clinical work & operation performance to a legendary level within short time. His achievement was driven by clear & robust methodology based on integration of best evidence-based medicine with operational procedures as well as key performance indices. He innovated an efficiency bundle of clinical interventions to autonomously & effortlessly achieve best standards of patient’s flow, bed capacity & operation. This efficiency bundle outcome was outstanding in all aspects including volume increment, cost reduction & improved clinical outcome. Examples of these efficiency interventions included establishing well-structured code sepsis, rapid response team as well package for clinical care transition for renal replacement therapies, tracheostomies, anticoagulation stewardships & goals of care determination.

Dr Mohammed Almetlag

Dr. Mohammed Almetlag is a Consultant Interventional Radiologist and Vice President for Healthcare Delivery at Najran Health Cluster, where he leads system-wide initiatives to transform healthcare delivery and improve patient outcomes. In his executive role, he oversees strategic programmes focused on expanding access to care, enhancing operational efficiency, improving quality and patient safety, and driving innovation across hospitals and healthcare facilities.

As a practising interventional radiologist, Dr. Almetlag has extensive expertise in minimally invasive image-guided procedures, vascular and non-vascular interventions, and the development of advanced interventional services. He has led the implementation of pioneering clinical programmes and innovative models of care, contributing to improved access to specialised treatments and better clinical outcomes.

Beyond his executive and clinical responsibilities, Dr Almetlag serves as a board member of the Saudi Interventional Radiology Society (SIRS), where he actively supports professional development, education, research, and the advancement of interventional radiology in Saudi Arabia. He is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences, sharing practical insights on healthcare transformation, leadership, innovation, and interventional radiology. Through his combined clinical expertise and executive leadership, Dr Almetlag is committed to shaping sustainable, high-performing healthcare systems that deliver exceptional value and improve the health of communities.

Dr Novitri Anggraeni

Dr. Novitri Anggraeni is a general practitioner and the Manager of Quality at RS PELNI. Her main responsibilities include managing day-to-day clinical quality indicators, handling patient safety reports, and preparing the hospital for national accreditation standards. She also supports the team in implementing continuous improvement tools like Kaizen and PDSA to improve hospital services.

Ms Chia-Hua Liou

Chia-Hua Liou is a Quality Management Specialist at the Center of Quality Management, Taichung Veterans General Hospital, Taiwan.
She is responsible for disease-specific accreditation, patient safety, and healthcare quality education.

Ms Rowena Wong

Ms Rowena Wong, Chief Manager (Chinese Medicine) of the Hospital Authority (HA), is a veteran healthcare professional who built a strong foundation of clinical and management expertise in both Hong Kong and Canada in her earlier career, before joining the HA in 2009.

The HA is a statutory body responsible for managing Hong Kong’s public hospital services since 1991. In addition to delivering conventional Western medicine services, the HA actively supports the Government’s direction in developing Chinese Medicine (CM). As the HA’s subject lead for CM, Ms Wong has spearheaded key initiatives in advancing CM development, including the successful implementation of government-subsidised CM outpatient services at the district level. Furthermore, she has been playing an instrumental role in the strategic development of the HA ICWM services, leveraging the complementary strengths of both CM and Western Medicine to enhance patient-centred care.

Building on the implementation experience, ICWM services have rapidly expanded from a small-scale pilot to cover 80% of major acute and rehabilitation public hospitals within two years, marking a pivotal milestone in successful integration of CM into the conventional healthcare system of Hong Kong.

Dr Mohammed Osman Younis

Dr. Mohammed Osman Ibrahim Younis is an Emergency Physician at the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS), where he has served since 2018. He holds an M.B.B.S from National Ribat University, an M.Sc. in Family Medicine from the University of Medical Science and Technology, Sudan, and is a Member of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (MRCEM). Licensed by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and UAE Ministry of Health, he brings over a decade of clinical experience across prehospital and emergency care settings. Dr. Younis holds advanced certifications in ACLS, ITLS, and EMPACT, and has a special interest in prehospital innovation, telemedicine integration, and cardiac emergency management. His current research focuses on evaluating the effectiveness of Tele-EMS systems in improving STEMI outcomes in Dubai.
