Mr Hal Wolf

President and CEO, Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), USA

Harold (Hal) Wolf III is the President and CEO of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) – a global non-profit whose mission is to Reform the global heath eco-system through the power of information and technology.

With nearly 35 years of experience, Wolf is respected internationally as a healthcare and informatics executive with areas of expertise in digital health, product development, integrated care models, marketing, distribution, information technology, and innovation implementation. He has helped health systems and providers across the world with end-to-end operations, commissioning, data and architectural design and policy.

Before Joining HIMSS, Wolf served at The Chartis Group as Director, Practice Leader of Information and Digital Health Strategy. Mr. Wolf is a pioneer in consumer engagement with MTV Networks and News Corp. He has contributed his unique approach and insights to the birth of the digital health era. Mr. Wolf also served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Kaiser Permanente’s Permanente Federation representing more than 16,000 physicians and as a Senior Advisor to McKinsey&Co.

Dr Ngai-Tseung Cheung

Head of Information Technology and Health Informatics, Hospital Authority, Hong Kong

Dr NT Cheung is the Head(IT & Health Informatics) of the Hospital Authority (HA). With the development of the Clinical Management System he has taken the 43 hospitals of the HA from a “green fields” situation to one where digital technology is ubiquitous in enabling better care. He also led the development of the territory-wide eHealth System integrating all parts of the healthcare ecosystem. His current work focuses on innovation and digital transformation to ensure the sustainability of healthcare in Hong Kong. NT has represented Hong Kong at the Global Health Digital Partnership since its inaugural Summit and is a fellow of both the IAHSI and AIDH.

Ms Bruna Faleiro

Biomedical Scientist, HUGOL - Governor Otavio Lage de Siqueira State Emergency Hospital; AGIR - Association for Management, Innovation, and Health Results, Brazil

Graduated in Biomedicine from the Pontifical Catholic University of Goiás (2010-2014). She attended the Multiprofessional Residency in Health at the Hospital das Clínicas of the Federal University of Goiás (2016-2018). She has a postgraduate degree in Urgency and Emergency, Public Health, Hospital Management and a Master’s in Quality and Accreditation in Health. She has a Master’s in Healthcare Management by Must University (2021-2023). She worked in the management and execution of processes in the clinical laboratory of a mother and child hospital. For the last 5 years, she currently works in the area of ​​quality of hemotherapeutic processes at Hugol – Governor Otavio Lage de Siqueira State Emergency Hospital. Professional with solid training and extensive experience in the health sector in the laboratory and hemotherapy field, with a focus on quality management and transfusion safety. Highlighted by the development of quality processes, audits and continuous improvement. Experience in supervising teams, managing performance indicators, conducting training and implementing strategic projects, with recognition for innovations in the healthcare area.

Prof. Dr Uli Fischer

Head of the Department of Clinical Nursing Research and Quality Management, Ludwig Maximilian University Hospital of Munich, Germany

Uli Fischer is a Professor of Applied Nursing Science at the Catholic University of Munich and is also the Head of the Department of Clinical Nursing Research and Quality Management at the Ludwig Maximilian University Hospital of Munich in Germany.

His research interest and scientific focus is on clinical nursing science, especially in the areas of application of new technologies in nursing, patient-related outcomes and nursing-related quality indicators. He is the Principal Investigator and Project Leader of several (third-party funded) national and international research consortia, author of many (peer-reviewed) publications, and teacher of relevant university courses on the application of technology in nursing.

Mr Fischer is a Registered Nurse and full-qualified Paramedic; he holds a Doctorate in Statistics and Epidemiology.

Dr Ligia Patricia Laverde

Internal Medicine Physician, Hospital Universitario Fundación Santa Fe de Bogotá, Colombia

Dr Ligia Laverde is an Internal Medicine Doctor in Bogotá, Colombia. She holds a Specialization in Epidemiology and has been a Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Los Andes. Dr Laverde has worked at the Fundación Santa Fe de Bogotá, serving as the Head of the Discharge Group and Deputy Director of Hospital Flow. She is the creator and instructor of the Diploma program in Transitional Care at the Fundación Santa Fe de Bogotá. She is currently pursuing a subspecialty in Endocrinology.

Dr Laverde has received several recognition – including the Humanism in Professional Practice Award and an Honorary Mention for Humanism in Professional Practice from the Hospital Universitario Fundación Santa Fe de Bogotá.

Dr Modesty Leaño

Chair of the Department of Pathology and Laboratories, Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center, Philippines

Dr Modesty A. Leaño is a distinguished medical professional – highly regarded for her expertise in anatomic and clinical pathology. She is a Fellow of the Philippine Society of Pathologists Incorporated and currently serves as the Head of the Department of Pathology and Laboratories at Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center (MMMHMC). In addition to her medical qualifications, Dr Leaño holds a Master’s degree in Hospital Administration, underscoring her adeptness in both clinical and administrative aspects of healthcare.

Dr Leaño’s leadership at MMMHMC is marked by her commitment to excellence in pathology and laboratory services, ensuring high standards in diagnostic accuracy and patient care. Her role involves overseeing the department’s operations, implementing innovative practices, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Beyond her duties at MMMHMC, Dr Leaño is a previous member of the Board of Governors for the Philippine Society of Pathologists Inc. In this capacity, she contributes to the advancement of pathology as a field, advocating for professional development, ethical practices, and the integration of cutting-edge technologies in pathology.

Dr Leaño’s multifaceted career reflects her dedication to enhancing healthcare delivery through both her clinical expertise and her strategic administrative skills. Her contributions to pathology and hospital management have made her a respected leader in the medical community, committed to advancing the standards of healthcare in the Philippines.
