Dr Ahmed El-Sobky

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky is a distinguished leader of Healthcare in Egypt. Currently serving as the chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority since 2020, he has initiated healthcare sector transformation by adopting the universal health insurance system, aiming to improve the quality of healthcare services and ensure affordability and accessibility. In addition, he contributes effectively to global health as a Member of the UHC2030 Steering Committee and IHF Governing Council.

His educational background includes a Ph.D. in Diagnostic Radiology, Master’s of Clinical Service Operations from Harvard Medical School. Additionally, he obtained an Executive Diploma in Public-Private Partnership in Healthcare from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. As well as a Master’s degree in Public Policy and an MBA in Business Administration and Management, Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky brings a unique blend of clinical expertise and strategic capabilities to his roles

Mr Marius Korte

Marius Korte is a political scientist working on European health policy and public affairs. Since 2023, he has been responsible for EU policy and international affairs at the German Hospital Federation, representing the interests of German hospitals in Brussels and engaging with EU institutions and stakeholders.

Previously, he held various positions at the intersection of politics, public administration, and interest representation at both the European and national levels. His work focusses on EU governance, health policy, and the interplay between European and national policymaking.

Mr Miguel Paiva

Miguel Paiva holds a degree in Economics from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Porto. He completed the coursework component of the Master’s in Health Services Management at ISCTE and a postgraduate degree in Hospital Management and Administration at Universidade Portucalense. He also completed the National Defence Auditors Course 2018/2019 at the Institute for National Defence (IDN), and has extensive additional training in the fields of economics and management, particularly in healthcare.He is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Local Health Unit (ULS) of São José, based in Lisbon, one of the largest in the country. Prior to this, he served as Chairman of the ULS Entre o Douro e Vouga, an entity within the National Health Service responsible for managing the hospitals of S. Sebastião (Santa Maria da Feira), S. João da Madeira, S. Miguel (Oliveira de Azeméis), and Francisco Zagalo (Ovar), as well as primary healthcare units across the municipalities of Santa Maria da Feira, Oliveira de Azeméis, Ovar, Arouca, Vale de Cambra, and S. João da Madeira. He has also held senior leadership positions in other organizations within the Ministry of Health, as well as in a private healthcare unit.

Adj. Prof. Mark Puhaindran

Adj. Prof Mark Puhaindran graduated from the National University of Singapore, and did his specialty training in Hand and Reconstructive Microsurgery at the National University Hospital, leading to his specialist accreditation in Hand Surgery. Following this, he was awarded the Health Manpower Development (HMDP) Award and did a fellowship in Musculoskeletal Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Centre in New York, USA. Adj Prof Puhaindran was Head of the Department of Hand and Reconstructive Microsurgery from 2021 to 2024 and took over as Chairman of the Medical Board at the end of 2024.
