Explore the sessions under Track 1: Contemporary Leadership

Today’s healthcare executives make challenging decisions in several directions while working to drive change to improve health outcomes for the communities they serve. The ever-shifting landscape of contemporary leadership requires outstanding competencies and continuous professional development.

At this year’s Congress, we focus on what it takes to deliver leadership that is fit for the future of the healthcare sector. Here are some of the Track 1 sessions you shouldn’t miss in Rio this September…

Plenary 1
Generational leadership shift: Navigating new challenges, shaping better futures

As generations evolve, so too do the challenges and expectations awaiting our future leaders. The expectations that future leaders have are also vastly different than their predecessors – or are they? How do we capture the wisdom and experience of now and carry it into the future?

In Plenary 1, our speakers will be joined by three IHF Young Executive Leaders for an intergeneration discussion about the future of hospital leadership, filled with insights and guidance for executive teams across the healthcare sector.

Delivering for everyone: Leading universal, value-based healthcare systems

In this session, we explore contemporary challenges in delivering universal healthcare with perspectives from across the globe, and how value-based healthcare can make an impact. The speakers will present insights on fostering leadership in the crucial role that equity plays in universal health coverage (UHC), and real-world examples and best practices in value-based payment (VBP) systems.

Getting transformation right: Leading change in different types of healthcare systems

Transformation in healthcare systems brings leaders both challenges and opportunities. In this session, gain insights into transformative initiatives worldwide, including an innovative governance model, the evolving dynamics of the public and private sector, and considerations of quality, accessibility, and patient satisfaction.

Tracking transformation: Leading successful system redesign – is it working?

Healthcare systems worldwide are implementing transformation projects and, once underway, it’s critical to assess if these initiatives are working. In this session, hear from leaders in different settings on the progress, successes, and next steps for innovative integrations and redesigns of healthcare service delivery in their systems.

We are adding new sessions to the programme by the day. Check back regularly to view newly confirmed sessions and speakers.

And remember, each session in the programme will offer live translation (English to Portuguese / Portuguese to English) so you can easily participate and exchange with global peers.
