Mr Jian Wei Goh

Manager, Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore

Jian Wei Goh is a Manager in Technology, Strategic Planning & Integration at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, and a registered pharmacist by training. Across the past seven years, his focus has shifted steadily toward digital transformation, spanning robotic process automation, AI literacy, and helping frontline healthcare teams adopt practical technology. He has led and supported innovation efforts ranging from machine learning for medication safety to hackathons that encourage healthcare workers to build and problem-solve, and remains an active educator and mentor within the profession.

Sustainability has long sat in the background of that work. Building with AI and data tools kept the energy and environmental footprint behind them close to mind, and turned into an ongoing curiosity about the concrete, measurable ways healthcare can do better. It’s a budding interest he’s keen to explore further, including through projects like the recyclable pharmacy packaging initiative, where small, deliberate design changes translate into real environmental and operational gains.

He is currently pursuing a Master of IT in Business at Singapore Management University, where his coursework spans digital technology and sustainability.

Prof. Kunibert Lennerts

University Professor, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology / Institute of Technology and Management in Construction, Germany

Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dipl.-Wi.-Ing. Kunibert Lennerts holds the Chair of Facility Management at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), the first university professorship of facility management in Germany, and directs KIT’s Institute of Technology and Management in Construction. Before entering academia in 2000, he headed facility and real estate management at Deutsche Bahn Immobiliengesellschaft, leading 400 staff and an annual budget of EUR 500 million.

His research centres on facility management in healthcare, sustainability, and the digitalisation of building operations. Since 2001 he has led OPIK, an open, university-run benchmarking pool in which public hospitals across German-speaking countries compare technical and operational performance. Building on this dataset, his group supervises doctoral research that applies quantitative methods, among them data envelopment analysis, to evaluate hospitals’ resource efficiency and carbon performance jointly rather than separately.

He served on the board of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) and contributes to the ESG bodies of the German Property Federation (ZIA) and ECE. He co-developed CO₂ accounting methodologies applied to large real estate portfolios and has supervised numerous doctoral theses at the intersection of hospital operations, sustainability, and data analysis.
