Judging Process

The selection process of Award winners will be in two phases.

Preliminary Judging Phase
This phase will be by the International Judging Panels composed of Awards Committee members, IHF Honorary members and partners. Each entry will be reviewed and scored independently by at least three judges having demonstrated no potential conflict of interest. Judges will not review entries submitted by participants from their own countries. After computing the composite scores, the highest scoring entries will move onto the Final judging phase.

Final Judging Phase
This phase will be by a Judging Panel comprised of the IHF President, IHF President Designate, IHF Immediate Past President, Awards Committee Chair and an IHF Honorary Member. All shortlisted entries per category will be considered and reviewed by this panel. Their decision on all Award Winners will be final.

Entries will be scored by the International Judging Panels using the following criteria:

  • Originality or innovativeness of the project
  • Scientific rigor of the project
  • Clarity of writing or presentation of submitted entry
  • Scalability of the project in the region and rest of the world
  • Affordability of the project or funding sustainability
  • Impact of the project on quality, efficiency and health outcomes.
